We have stayed at Ireland West Farm Stay two different times on our vacations to Ireland. We have loved each time. The cottage is beautiful and was comfortable to stay in. Having a kitchen and being able to eat meals in the cottage is a great change from always eating out while on vacation. You also have access to do laundry, which is a great feature. Eddie Joe and family are the perfect hosts and enjoyed being able to get to know them. Take advantage of the local activities and do a music session at the cottage, take a farm/bog tour with Eddie Joe, do a hands on blacksmith demonstration or visit some of the local sites. You will not regret staying here, we look forward to coming back again sometime! ★★★★★

After traveling and seeing the Southwest of Ireland and all of the spectacular sights and natural wonders, the farm was a nice relaxing spot. The cottage is cosy but modern with all the comforts of a special guest house. Perfect for travel with my wife and 2 adult children with 3 bedrooms. Even had a laundry which my daughter took advantage of as she was heading off to the rest of Europe after our stay here. The hospitality was warm and genuine. I especially enjoyed the optional music night sitting around the peet fire and even taking a turn on the dance floor. Judy even convinced my son to get up and dance and he proved a natural. I would highly recommend this stay as it is nice to slow down and get a taste of Ireland today. Thanks Eddy and Anne ★★★★★

We spent the afternoon with Eddie Joe on his farm learning about the animals and crops and peat bogs, and with his neighbour, Michael, learning about sheep and sheep herding. We were actually mucking about in the fields with them, had tea with Robbie and Maggie and Eddie Joe, and felt like part of the family. It was such a rare and special experience! I highly recommend Ireland West Farm Stay if you want an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience.

Experience, something not to be missed for those interested in a 'Day in the Life' experience! Sheepherding, bog cutting and blacksmith forging---and not a tourist to be seen for miles!! This was a highlight for us as well as our 20 year old daughter. It was here that we met Maggie (her father is the bog man!) and upon our departure my daughter commented that she felt like she was saying goodbye to a friend. We look forward to returning.

This cottage is set in an amazing country setting in the heart of Co. Mayo.. you can go for lovely walks around the area or even call into Davies the local bar down the road for a nice pint and a sing song!! The cottage itself is finished with such love and attention to detail similar to a 5 star hotel! The decor and the style is a credit to the owners Eddie Joe and Ann that welcomed us on our arrival and made our stay extremely welcoming and helped us in every way. We were 5 adults and 2 children and brought in the New year with a further 10 adults and the cottage was capable of holding the crowd for a sing along!! I highly recommend this cottage to get a true feeling of Irish/mayo hospitality !! ★★★★★

A huge highlight of our visit to Ireland was the last day of our tour, when we spent the day at IrelandWest Farm Stay in Co. Mayo. We spent the morning on the farm, visiting with animals and then learning about the peat bog. We even got to cut peat and stack it to dry. Then we spent time with a blacksmith (Patrick at 9ironscraft) who made a fireplace poker with our sons, and then a 9 irons amulet with all of us shaping some of the pieces. Finally we had a tour and tasting with the local cheese maker-all in all a really wonderful final day.
